A few words from Steve Lytle:
Summit Church,
Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support! It means so much to us and helps make possible the chance for us to do what God has called us to at First Baptist Church of Strongsville! I have been told that revitalizing/replanting a church is a slow work. That has been the case here. I am not discouraged at all as it is clear that God is working but we are still so dependent on help from individuals and Churches like you. So thank you again!
You can find a couple updates below:
Riley Watterson is one of our young adults. He was saved at the beginning of the year and was baptized on Father’s Day. Riley and I have been meeting consistently and I have seen him grow in Christ in real, tangible ways. In early October, I invited him to attend a missions event at Baptist Mid-Missions with me. It was a Friday evening, Saturday morning event that was done with the purpose of introducing young adults to missions and the need for the Gospel all around the world. Riley agreed to come and God worked in him. He came away from that weekend sensing that God may be calling him into missions, specifically somewhere in Europe. Having a missions background, I am so excited about this! Riley is right now looking for an opportunity to go visit a missionary in Europe. God is so good! Please pray for Riley!
Building Reconstruction
We have finally been able to get started on the reconstruction of the part of our building that was affected by the burst pipe back in February. This is a big deal for us! Financially, between what insurance gave us, what other churches and outside individuals have given, as well as what our own people have been to give, we had enough to get started. Drawings are being completed now to be submitted to the city. The total for the project will be about $100,000. After a generous gift of $10,000 from another Church in the fellowship of Churches that we are a part of, we are at $76,604.25. That leaves us with $23,395.75 left to raise. You can see those amounts on the slide below as well as a rendering of the project.

To keep the cost from going any higher, I worked with the contractor that we are going to have do the work, to allow us as a church to do what we can. So, we are going to have some work days or will have people come when they can to help to remove wall paper, help with demolition of the one wall that is being taken out and to help paint. I am thankful we have that opportunity. If anyone is interested in helping with those things, I would love to talk to you. If you could join us in prayer for the rest of what remains to come in and for an expedient drawing and permit process, that would be so greatly appreciated!
The Lytle Family
As a family, we are doing really well! Heather and I marriage wise are doing great. Heather loves her job as a lunch lady at our kids school. Hudson is loving the chance to be in the Construction Trades program at the Career Center in Medina and is continuing to do well in the rest of his classes. He has been working quite a few hours at Chick-Fil-A to start the school year but that has slowed down as basketball has started. Kinlee is doing great in school and working a good number of hours at Chick-Fil-A as well. She continues to love to read and write. She recently won an award in a local poetry contest. Sawyer is doing great in school as well and has been getting more and more interested in playing the drums. He is excited that basketball has started and he’s looking forward to the day when is old enough to work at Chick-Fil-A too! :)
One thing that our family takes seriously is ministry in our neighborhood. Since we have been in Medina, we have done different things but one of the consistent things has been grilling hotdogs and handing them out along with candy and Bible activity booklets during trick or treating. We have even had some of our next door neighbors come join us. One of those neighbors has a Jewish background and wants nothing to do with Jesus but God has given us favor with her and we can see Him working in her life. This year, during Medina’s trick or treat time a guy that lives a couple streets over in our neighborhood, Nyle, came by our house with his 2 year old son. As he grabbed a hotdog, we got into spiritual conversation. I asked him if he had a spiritual background and he said, “I’m trying.” He said he moved here from England and there were no churches around him there. I told him I would be happy to talk any time he wanted to. He reached out and we are setting up a time to talk this week or next! Please pray for Nyle!
Prayer wise for our family - the biggest thing is our vehicles. We praise the Lord that our van continues to get us where we need to go personally and for ministry but know we have to figure out something soon. We also praise the Lord that our car continues to function as needed. A mechanic recently told me that the motor is great on the vehicle, it is just that the rust is so bad.
Thank you again for your support of us! We are so grateful! Included below are a few pictures of our family and happenings at First Baptist Church of Strongsville. If anyone has any questions, please contact me!
