This is Day 6 post-op and I’m as silent as possible- no talking, whispering, sneezing, coughing or clearing my throat (I do a little cheating on those last two). My vocal cords need rest and healing from surgery. A one cm growth, which turned out to be malignant, was removed from the left cord last Friday. We’re relieved that results from a CT scan indicate that the cancer hasn’t spread. Still, these days of silence are giving Jennifer and me a unique opportunity to be still, trust and learn.
