How it all started...
In September 2008, twenty-five people helped launch The Summit Church as a campus of a large local church. Wanting to steer away from a traditional building, we gathered weekly at a movie theater and two years later in a local YMCA. Our goal was to reach out to people who didn’t go to church or had been away for a long time. The heart of our team was to see lives changed through Jesus Christ. In 2012 The Summit transitioned from a campus extension to an independent church. Then, in 2015 a building was donated to us and we moved 7 miles south. For more than a decade God has been growing The Summit from a team of 25 people to a weekly gathering of a couple hundred people.
Expanding the vision...
Lives are being changed each week at The Summit as we speak and show the good news of Jesus Christ. We continue to see first-time guests walk through our doors EVERY Sunday but we know there are thousands of people in our community who don’t go to church anywhere. We want The Summit Church to be a place where they can find a home. A community of people who are loving God and loving others.
Where we are headed ...
We would love for you to be a part of the Summit’s story. You are writing a story. The Summit is writing a story. Our desire is that the author of our stories would be God. Not only do we want Him to be the author, but the point of the story. As we allow God to write our story, we're convinced He wants us to find enjoyment in three areas: 1) enjoyment in gathering with others, 2) enjoyment in serving others, and 3) enjoyment in making disciples.
UPDATE MAY 2023: We're excited to announce that we've purchased property on the north side of our current property (pictured below)! In the months ahead, we will putting in motion a plan to expand our space so that we can continue to welcome people into our church family.
Update February 2024: The property next door has been cleared!. We have added extra parking and are currently taking next steps to help us gain more space for our church family by using the other half of the new property.
