About Barb

Barb is a missionary in Osaka, Japan, where she has been living for many years. The Japanese people are often hesitant about religion and are deeply connected to their ancestral roots. While Christianity officially accounts for about 2% of Japan’s population, this figure can be misleading, as it includes Christianity as an umbrella term. The actual percentage of those who identify as Christians is likely less than 1%.

Barb has a deep love for the Japanese people and is involved in various outreach projects, including a language exchange program and a ladies' café. The ladies' café is a gathering where women come together to have organic conversations about everyday topics. These discussions often lead to conversations about faith and Jesus. The language exchange program facilitates mutual support in learning English and Japanese, with discussions also sometimes touching on Christianity.
Barb is busy and productive, continually witnessing growth in her ministries. The team she works with has expanded, allowing for more people to engage in serving the Osaka area. With more team members, there is greater understanding and progress for God’s kingdom. She requests prayers for the Japanese people, asking for peace, grace, and understanding.
